About this deal

Booklist magazine named her one of the “new stars of historical romance," and her books have been contracted for translation in more than a dozen languages. In particular, you have a pretty great heroine who doesn't mindlessly go along with a notorious rake.

Overall I still thought it was a really fun novella that was well fleshed out considering the limited number of pages and I will be reading more books by Tessa Dare in future. At least, if I mark the really lousy pseudo-Regency Kindle freebies I read, I should mark the semi-decent ones too, right? His Bride for the Taking by Tessa Dare is an adult historical romance novella, originally published on May 22, 2018. When Mary is stood up at the altar, Sebastian steps up for her, and things really take off from there. Sebastian, her deceased brother’s best friend, insists she marries him instead to protect her from the scandal.

The hardest thing about being married is not taking everything personally when there are only the two of you. He's kept his distance despite being in love with her forever, but with her brother gone Sebastian takes it upon himself to be her knight in shining armor when she jilted on her wedding day.

General notes: To varying degrees, all of my books include descriptive sexual content, drinking, and profanity. So, although I’ll read pretty much anything with words on a page, it’s romance I come back to every time, to pick me up, to envelop me in a different world, to make me laugh, to make me sigh. i really hate the whole 'lying' trope that was the catalyst for the conflict and i wasn't the hugest fan of the characters, but it was short and funny so i'll give it that! Read more about the condition Very Good: A book that has been read and does not look new, but is in excellent condition. This novella has Tessa Dare’s winky humour (there is a Swedish furniture scene that I found hilarious), a feminist heroine, and a grumpy but besotted hero.

For all ebook purchases, you will be prompted to create an account or login with your existing HarperCollins username and password.I am kind of slumping due to all the craziness happening in the world and this was the perfect little tidbit to keep my reading momentum going. There’s humor as well as passion in this marriage-of-convenience story… and a twist that romance fans will probably see coming. Emotional moments and situations filled with humor can be found in this delightful Regency period story, where the imagination of Tessa Dare repeatedly creates compelling scenes. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. but when they met again after 4 years, it was obvious they shared a comfortable relationship, the big brother-small sister kinda bond.
