About this deal

I was thinking between MK3 and Mikro and I selected latter because I have all of the MK3s commands on my keyboard already so I would pay just for duplication of they keys and displays.

MASCHINE MIKRO is the perfect first step for music producers already using a DAW to get hands-on with their creative process, letting them tap out beats and melodies, and quickly build up loops and track ideas. However, there are a number of great tutorials on the Native Instruments site, and on YouTube, and with a little practice, you’ll get the hang of it pretty quickly, at least the basics. The Komplete Kontrol M32 features a smooth, synth action custom NI keybed, a useful OLED display for quick navigation, eight touch-sensitive control knobs for seamless control over virtual instruments and effects. The Maschine Mikro MK3 features some amazing updates on it's predecessor including sleek, new design, larger pads, OLED screen, expressive touchstrip and capacitive buttons making it the ultimate portable pad controller. Plus it comes with full versions of the popular synths MASSIVE, MONARK, and REAKTOR PRISM, as well as the free KOMPLETE START. Since the launch of Maschine, Native Instruments has released several major upgrades, including advanced sampling functions, VST and AU plug-in hosting, and NIS sound format browsing. thought was, that with digitakt and a nice pad controller you don’t always have to power up the whole computer rig.

There are 22 of them, ranging from useable reverbs and filters to the brilliantly outlandish Grain Delay and Resochord — superb algorithms that deliver weird warping and boingy ringing by the bucketload. I’ve used a few Native Instruments plugins over the years, so I was familiar with the sound quality of their software. Each track can consist of drums, instruments or samples, the four sources then routed through a simple mixer. That being said, the included sounds remain high quality, and with full versions of Massive, Monark and Prism thrown in, it’s still hard to argue with the value. The Native Instruments Maschine Mikro 3 is a lightweight, portable and compact production controller that can be powered via USB which means you don't need to worry about bringing a separate power supply!Boot it up and the Mikro's encoder, most of the buttons and all of the pads can be reassigned to transmit MIDI notes, aftertouch, continuous controllers, and so on. The Maschine hardware from Native Instruments has always been a winning formula, allowing DAW users to get hands-on with their music.

Sure, you can export audio and MIDI files and build arrangements manually, but that seems rather perverse with the Mikro hardware to hand. You can now audition drum kits without disrupting the current pattern, assuming the kits are picked from the Browser's list. I feel a bit spoiled by the seamless integration that allows me to tap out the drums with one hand while playing a simple bass line or testing melody notes with the other.

In principle this is no different to the folders of any DAW, yet in practice it nudges you gently towards new working methods.

The Native Instruments Maschine Mikro MK3 inherits the flexibility and power of its big brother Maschine MK3, in a more portable controller. Then I’ll export the full audio of my song arrangement and save it to my “Music Demos” folder in Dropbox. Fortunately this never feels like a chore, perhaps because the lack of clutter is a pleasant alternative to often fragile or over-complex DAWs. Maschine Mikro Mk3 works both as a stand-alone program and with a DAW, so you can produce music at any time. Mikro MK3 forgoes the big colour displays and knob encrusted front panel, and instead adopts a smaller high contrast OLED display, and during the RND process NI analysed the most used commands for MK3 and distrilled the button layout down to make it a faster and more user friendly unit that ever before. Play with inspiring sounds and effects for any style, including full versions of MASSIVE, MONARK, and REAKTOR PRISM.
