About this deal

My major complaint with the first was there were too many almost identical fight scenes, but this book was much better paced with the fighting and the enemies. I will get to book three only to see if we revisit book one characters or if we get any closer to tying it all together.

Plus like many people have said Michela Schulthies voice work definitely falls short alongside Aaron Smith's. Loved that is related to the first book even though it was a very different story and even had an overlapping character. Also I feel the supporting characters of Darmour, Orjan and Navi could've been better off being introduced much earlier - I found them to be pretty interesting.

Though this book doesn’t necessarily move the overarching plot of the whole series on, (it’s more like a parallel book to ‘A Forest of Vanity and Valour’ rather than a sequel) it gives enough that you can see in future books it will all come together. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Esara on the other hand was annoying and a bit 2 dimensional, couldn’t fully get to grip on what age she was supposed to be.Don’t get me wrong, not everything is terrible about this book, that might be one of the most frustrating things about reading these, there is so much potential. To the point there was one or two moments in this book which made me well up, which has never happened as far as reading a book goes.
